About Dr Jern Yee Chen

Dr Chen is an eye surgeon who specialises in cataract and corneal surgery.

What sets Dr Chen apart is her caring and compassionate manner and her commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for all patients – utilising the latest in advanced technologies and tailored surgical excellence. She strives to understand the visual needs of her patients in order to individualise and optimise results.

Dr Chen grew up in Adelaide and obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide Medical School. She completed her Ophthalmology training in New Zealand and then undertook subspecialty training in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery at numerous centres of excellence around the world: the St Paul’s Eye Unit in the United Kingdom, the Storm Eye Institute in the United States of America and the Singapore National Eye Centre in Singapore. She is a Fellow of the Royal and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

Dr Chen has research interests in corneal transplantation, infectious keratitis and keratoconus treatment. She has published in numerous peer-reviewed local and international journals.

Dr Chen is involved in the training of ophthalmology registrars and medical students. She believes in educating patients so they have a better understanding of the eye condition.
